Welcome to the Villa Lante Center!
Since 1837, the Villa Lante in Rome has been one of the most important historic properties of the Society of the Sacred Heart, the religious congregation founded by Saint Madeleine Sophie Barat, now present in over 40 countries. Since 2020, the Villa Lante has undergone a major renovation and has been revitalized as a Center for Religious and Lay Formation in the heart of the Italian capital.
Our magnificent historic structure is surrounded by a centuries-old park. Guests of the Villa Lante Center can participate in our formation programs and visit all the city has to offer. In the Villa Lante, you can take advantage of multimedia rooms, social rooms for relaxation, a lovely dining room for breakfast, a Church and three smaller chapels for prayer, and many single, double or triple rooms that welcome our guests with modern standards of comfort such as air conditioning and en-suite bathrooms.
The Villa Lante Center is located near Vatican City, in the heart of the Trastevere, one of the most characteristic areas of the city, just a short distance from important sites such as St. Peter's Basilica, Castel Sant'Angelo, Piazza Navona, the Roman Forum and the Colosseum, to name a few of Rome’s most famous attractions.
From our large park you will have a spectacular view of Rome and you will feel as if you were on a quiet island in the center of one of the great European capitals.
The staff of the Villa Lante Center is made up of a group of creative and enthusiastic religious and lay people at your service to build together a memorable spiritual and cultural experience for your visit to Rome. We will be happy to answer all your requests for information about the Villa Lante Center!
